About Owen...? Not my favourite subject but I'll try my best not to bore you with long-winded, ego-stroking, mind-numbing rhetoric. Don't expect too much relating to my personal life, as I regard that as being private, although not exclusively so, in some cases.

Let's start with the assumption that I am an author, right? So, here I'll be focusing on other aspects of my time usage. I call it usage as I am pretty close to retirement, at least in terms of my age. I probably won't stop working as I still want to have holidays, go fishing, go karting, you know, all the usual things you're supposed to do just to have a little fun.

Initially, I'll just throw out the stuff that just might find me some work to earn the coins needed to play the games I want to play. Later, I'll allow a few glimpses into other aspects of the usage of my time on this planet. Or you may just want to race to the links to my other interests - yes, those on the right.

Not a Resumé as such

Below is an abbreviated list of just some of the technical undertakings performed utilising abilities and talents most effectively. Some of the skills and abilities have been acquired through formal education, though much has been learned through practical experience in the relevant fields.

Intellectual Property Documentation Proofreader

Providing document correction services for I.P. documents created by non-native speakers, ensuring accuracy of the linguistic aspects, as well as suggesting revisions for concise, accurate declarations and descriptions. All tasks completed and returned within the prescribed timescales.

Documents produced in native language (Greek, Chinese, etc.)
Manually, or mechanically, translated to English,
Documents passed to proofreaders for validation and (where necessary) rationalisation and correction.

English as a Foreign Language Teacher

Originally giving lessons in person to clients in the Alicante city area (including San Vicente, Muchamiel, San Juan and even out as far as El Campello), I have taught in Indonesian language schools, a Chinese language school, and now I provide tailored online classes to students of various ages.

Teaching at all levels from absolute novices, to upper advanced level.
Providing courses, conversation, or lessons tailored to suit the specific requirements of the students.
To cater for clients (students) who are in full time employment I teach up to 22:00pm each weekday.

Analyst/Programmer

I started back when IBM Mainframe was THE technology, and how quickly that died! Worked on various platforms, on various international projects, in Hong Kong, Australia and the Netherlands, but now I limit myself to web design and implementation - more as an interest derived from my desire to create (literally) my own web presence, than a means of employment.

IBM Mainframe TSO/ISPF MVS/VM, JCL, Cobol, CICS, FOCUS, IDMS databases and VSAM files. (If you recognise any of these things, you've got to be as old as I am!)
PC-Focus, MS-Dos and Windows. Batch files, Basic (in various guises).
Visual Basic for Excel - creating databases and application front ends.
HTML/CSS/Javascript/PhP/MySql database (and SQL coding), plus the ancilliary aspects of graphics design and content creation.
